“All my friends are bigger than me,†Tunde blurted out as I
complimented his small stature. Then he added, â€what's there to admire?†I was
taken back a bit. In split seconds, I thought about that statement and
connected myself to it. We shared a similar story. I had thought like that too
when I was in secondary school and still sometimes do. There was a time I would
wear big shorts inside before wearing my gown or skirt so that I can look a
little bit bigger. As I grew I kept fighting it, I hated it when people still
referred to me as a teenager because of my small body stature. I kept telling
my friends that something is wrong with me, and that's why I'm not adding up.
But one day, the Holy Spirit brought me deliverance through
Psalms 139:14 and it began to sink deep inside me. So, I began to ask, “What's
wrong with being Fat and what's wrong with being slim or small?†I found the
answer in that scripture, “absolutely nothing!†I think the world will be
boring if we all came in the same size. Our difference is the anchor of our
Uniqueness. This is the body you were given. None of us had the chance to
decide what form of the body we will occupy when we come to earth. So accept it
because you are God's masterpiece.
Your confidence is increased when you feel comfortable in
your skin. The key to feeling confident about yourself is MODERATION. If you
are Slim, eat well and rest well. This will keep you glowing regardless of your
figure. If you are Fat, eat right. Avoid junk as much as you can and work out
consistently. This way you can stay in shape and move about confidently even
when people stare at you for a second time.
There's nothing wrong with being slim or Fat. This is the
body you were given. Feel comfortable, feel confident and feel grateful for it.
You are a SPEC... You drip Glory.. Most importantly, You are God's masterpiece.
