Don't Be A Living Dead!

Don't Be A Living Dead!

Sometimes when we are faced with too many life challenges, we tend to start asking questions that soon mar our relationship with God.

At this time, unfortunately, we are blind to the fact there's been a disconnect and many find themselves digging their way out of the ditch they buried themselves in egoistically and ignorantly I must add, and that's why the Christendom is in such a mess and we can only cry for God's intervention.

In the last months, I found myself going back to alcohol. You know, we all need something to turn to in the days of adversity and the sweet Holy Spirit isn't often the best option when we are filled with so much rage laced up in selfish emotions. Shouldn't be!

Quite frankly, we turn our back to the truth and run with the wrong options instead, although all radar points in the direction of danger at this time, we care less, don't we?

By the way, many at this point would say alcohol isn't a sin. Well, very true. Intoxication is what makes it a sin, but in my case, it is. I've abused it over the years and it has mostly harmed me. I should run very far from it. However, this isn't the essence of this piece, I should dive right into it.

On that note, I bring you this message titled; Don't Be A Living Dead. (Rev3:1-6)

Many of us are a ‘living dead' as I've been in the last months. I thought everything was fine and still had right standing with God but that was me deceiving myself and many, quite unfortunately, are doing the same. The good news, however, is that I've picked up the broken pieces and back in the potter's hands. All glory to God!!!

With that being established, who's a living dead??

A ‘living dead' is someone who's biologically alive but spiritually dead. A ‘living dead' can be described as a zombie in the spirit. They pretend to know God but are spiritually dead. They have a form of godliness but seek the accolade of men. They have lost God in their journey. Though they bear the name of God, they are dead. They live false lives but remember, even if you deceive men, you cannot deceive God. He sees the heart of men.

They are Christians full of activities but living false life. They disguise to be God-oriented but are far from the truth. They are full of lies and hypocrisy. So I ask, are you still a child of God or a living dead??

Just as you prepare to answer the question in all sincerity, please remember; Good works will not guarantee your salvation. However, I have great news for you today — The fact that you are a living dead (For those guilty) doesn't mean you're condemned for life. You can still come alive and find your stand in Christ Jesus.

Just as in the story in Ezekiel 37:3, Ezekiel found himself around dry bones but they came alive when they came in contact with the power of God.

Now the question is, what can we do to get back in line with God you might ask?

First of all, you have to go back to the Word of God and repent from your old wicked ways and resolve to live righteously going forward.

Many of us want to enjoy the blessing of God but do not want to surrender to the authority of God and that can be related to the story of the prodigal son. He disconnected from his source (His Father), ran off with his inheritance and we all know how the story ended — he came back worse than his father's slaves. (Read Luke 15)

When a branch is separated from a tree, it is destined to die. So is a man dead when he separates himself from God (his source)

Quickly, as I bring this to a close, what causes this separation?

To answer that, I will like to talk about just one; Sin, as I have an article already prepared to expatiate on that and you should look forward to it.

Sin, according to Isaiah 59:2 is the ultimate killer of destiny. It causes an instant separation between God and man.

"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." — Isaiah 59:2

In conclusion,  we've all fallen short of His glory at some point and went on to become a ‘living dead. Nonetheless, it's not too late to turn a new leaf. Go back to the source that gave you life. In sin, our mothers conceived us, but by His precious blood, we were redeemed.

He's still able to redeem you from your many mistakes (Sin).

Don't be a living dead.

Chose life.
Come alive in Christ.
He's waiting.
