It is a terrible thing for any #Christian to have a dormant prayer life. It is through communion that we make our supplication known to the Lord. However, in as much as our going to God through prayer, worship or praise as the case may be is very crucial, we must also understand the importance of creating an atmosphere to hear when God speaks.
Communion is a two-way line, sadly, many answers to prayers are frustrated by our inability to listen to the voice of God.
We go to God with expectations of being heard and responded to, so how come we only ASK and are not patient enough to LISTEN?
We keep lamenting and crying out to the heavens about our problems but what if all that's required of us for that desired change is a listening ear?
When was the last time we sat quietly in our beds or places of worship without a request but a pen and paper to write, as a result of the outpouring of the #HolySpirit?
On Monday, you went to God with the 'school fees' issue and by Tuesday you are already complaining about the Landlord's traumatic visits. Wednesday births a completely different problem and you went to bed on Thursday with complaints regarding your #marriage. In a couple of hours, it will be Friday and that's the last day to meet up with the electricity bill, and you'll most likely spend the rest of the weekend nagging about how God didn't come through for you, but when exactly were you expecting Him to speak?
God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Just as He spoke to Moses in the days of old is the same way He does today, the problem, however, is that we don't create an atmosphere for Him to speak to us.
Many, unfortunately, can't recognise when God speaks, talk more of heeding.
Call it a wake-up call, it is time to wake up from our slumber. We've done too much of the speaking, it's high time we handed Him the baton.
He was the One that created us remember? He sees and knows all we are going through. Creating an atmosphere for God to speak to us is the antidote to our unanswered prayers. If we can get that right, we are on a first-class trip to our dreams come through.
Live, Pray, Listen!
Prayer Point: Lord, help me to be patient enough for the response of my prayers. Help me to create an atmosphere for you to speak to and through me. Amen
