I am Tayme'tee. I'm a Child of God, a Husband, a Father, a Worship Leader, a Speaker, a Producer, a Songwriter, a Gospel artist, a Music Director, an IT Consultant and a Director of a Media company based in the #UK.
I was born in #London and raised in London till I was 7 years old before relocating to Nigeria with my parents where I stayed for the next 16 years of my life. I'm the first child and only son of my mum and I have two younger sisters. I had my primary education in London and Nigeria while my secondary school education was in #Nigeria. My tertiary studies were carried out overseas.
My childhood was somewhat diverse. I grew up in the UK until I was age 7 like I said and still remember my school route when I was a young boy (I actually once took my kids to see where I grew up), I also grew up in Nigeria and remember very clearly my struggle trying to learn how to speak #Yoruba as an 8-year kid from London. Having said that, my parents were quite helpful in ensuring that I settled into the new environment and culture I found myself in. From quite an early age, I had been heavily exposed to varieties of #music through my dad and uncle. My dad had quite an eclectic taste in music and had several #LP records that covered #gospel, #pop, #reggae, #calypso, #soul, #afrobeat to mention but a few genres. Interestingly, he frequently requested me to join him and my uncle to have a dance competition to whatever song was playing on his turntable system! I started following him to choir rehearsals while I was as young as 4 years old and I must say I am eternally grateful for those early years of influence on my musical journey.
I got saved while I was still a young student in secondary school. Back then I had a hot-cold relationship with Sunday morning fellowship and it so happened on one of 'those days I found myself in fellowship during my second year in secondary school giving my life to Christ. The initial challenges I had were more to do with me trying to find a way to grow as a new convert but unfortunately, my growth didn't quite go according to plan. I went to a boarding school for my secondary education and somehow the freedom I had as a young man away from home somehow made my ability to continue in the faith somewhat difficult. I eventually stopped working on growing as a young #Christian and even almost forgot I had given my life to Christ. Many years down the line, a dear family friend sent me a prophetic write up by a Pastor of a church not too far from me (while I was living in #Ibadan, Nigeria), the write-up made a great impact on me and I ended up seeking this church out and eventually rededicating my life to Christ at this church. Interestingly while at my newfound church (Chapel of Revelation, Ibadan), I got the call into the music ministry and the rest, as they say, is history...
It has been a journey of many many many lessons, the most important aspect of it all has been my growth and development as a believer. I have grown over the years in my walk with God and this has been the bedrock of any and every achievement I have to date. Today I can gladly say I am confident in who God has made me be (i.e. discovering my true identity in Christ), walking in purpose and hungry to please Him every way I can.
I would say that the only true fulfilment in life is when you walk in the fullness of who God has designed and created you to be. You find this by entering into a relationship with Him by giving your life to Christ.
Kind regards & God bless
