Sometimes, we don™t have choices in life. We need to move forward whether or not our mind or heart is willing to join us. And, that counts in a decision. Thousands of times, we think things will go well. And, millions of times, we scare about “ What if it will turn out poorly?
If I look back almost four years ago, when I was in the same boat, I had no option to choose. I was doing well in technical stuff with a handsome salary. But, we can™t predict the next moment... When, I have booked a France Trip (you can think how well I was doing as I live in India) but the very next moment, I needed to cancel it. Well, it was not enough as I needed to shift at home.
It broke me into pieces. My home is in a small town, so what can one do there, living in the metro city of the country for more than a decade? I was trying hard to accept “ there will be no free bird type of life, no pub, no friends, no shopping malls, in short, there is nothing for me. But, as I said, sometimes, we have no choice.
I shifted at hometown¦ Tried really hard to cope with life and I failed. Truth is that I don™t know how much time I have failed neither do I remember how many sleepless nights I have had. Some thought I was in depression and the rest thought I was an angry bird. It is hard to say whether they were right or I was taking time to accept everything.
I spent almost 7-8 hours reading about motivation, sad, depressed and blah blah blah quotes. No doubt, it is a very powerful way to swing moods but it can™t create a way to overcome our problems. We have to create our own path to solve our life issues.
As soon as I learned this lesson, I decided to take some action. I have tried everything from selling pens to clothes. Unfortunately, I failed. I was with empty pockets and a hopeless soul. What can one expect from such a person? I started facing daily life hacks like whether I needed to go on trips or spend some evening trying to make money¦ It was really hard.
So, I decided to start freelancing in web designing. This was the only thing I didn™t only know but also could start with a zero budget. It almost took 3-4 months to get a project. No doubt, it was beginning to seem like I was failing again and I had no other choice, so started finding some clients in town. Slowly, I started and within a year, I earned $120 only. Yeah, I am talking about a whole year. I learned traditional marketing and also started to learn about digital marketing. I got another project of web development and I started learning it too. In the second year of struggling, I finally knew web development, designing and digital marketing, testing.
No doubt, I have started slowly, but invested time in learning first. Then I chose to invest time in networking. Networking helped me to pitch the right quotation. And, now, I am struggling again to book a France trip, although I have everything. But, making some weeks off for a trip is a bit typical.
I am Akansha Chopra, this is my story¦
