I once thought there was no way a guy like my speck would be interested in me. I was convinced that as a Christian woman, I wouldn't be able to attract a good man, let alone marry one. I based this belief on the experiences of other Christian couples who seemed mismatched.
For instance, there's Bro Kelvin, a handsome, tall man, married to a petite, less conventionally attractive woman. Then there's Sis Muni, perceived as the most beautiful lady in our church, married to short Bro Theo. These examples, along with similar stories from other church members and even pastors, convinced me that God wouldn't give me what I desired.
So when a mixed-race man with captivating features approached me and claimed God told him I was his wife, I was skeptical. I even thought he might be a distraction from my spiritual journey. Although I initially resisted, I eventually prayed about it, and surprisingly, I felt peace and confirmation that he was the one.
As I sought understanding from the Lord, the Holy Spirit directed me to the scripture in 1 Timothy 2 vs 20, which emphasizes that everyone is unique and has their own story. This helped me understand that just because others had similar experiences doesn't mean mine would be the same. I learned that God can give us what we truly desire, and we shouldn't limit ourselves based on others' experiences.
So, I want to encourage you not to discount the possibility of finding your "speck" based on others' experiences. God is a good father who desires to give us good things, so don't write off your own story because of others' experiences.
