There has been no better time than the present to make money on the internet. Still, people treated me as if I had fallen from the frying pan into the fire.Â
I didn't start experimenting with writing except for a good purpose. I wanted to share the…Â
But what happened, after I spent half a decade on the streets, I didn't have any references to submit when applying for employment.Â
“I don't think it counted as work that I went around collecting recycling cans to sustain my addictions.â€Â
Then the worst, applying to rent a room — because I couldn't afford an apartment — they asked me for references from five years ago.Â
“I was wondering if the shelter address was worth anything.â€Â
However, having left the railroad tracks to take the right path gave me good references. Some people started to trust and support me.Â
I read somewhere that the path of a beginner writer is difficult because it starts with zero followers. My motivation comes from knowing where I came from — of zero trust from the whole world.Â
Now, I promised that I would become the best version of myself with this new opportunity in life.Â
And when people ask me, what are you going to do with your new life?Â
They laugh at me when I tell them, “I want to write online.â€Â
They asked me, “Did a mosquito bite you when you were on the streets.†“Get a normal or real job.â€Â
“Don't get carried away by yellow fever that's on the internet infecting everyone with false promises of stability and riches.â€Â
“Leave that job to the internet bums, who have nothing to do but sit around all day pecking at keys.â€Â
“I prefer to fly high (with the eagles),†I answered, “with my writer's dream because I know I can make it a reality rather than pecking the ground like chickens on the farm.â€Â
I lived twenty years enslaved to the labour system. The ideology that with a stable job: I could support a home, a good car, and enjoy a good vacation from time to time is over — A big lie.Â
I was always in debt, trying to appear happy and successful until debts started to steal my sleep.Â
I had all the luxuries I wanted, but my home lacked love. I waved to everyone from the window of my new car, but inside I knew it wasn't mine — five years of payments were eternal, let alone with insurance.Â
I was waving with someone else's hat.Â
In the end, I didn't own anything, and lastly, not even my wife put up with me, who ended up leaving me because my worries led me to unbridled drinking.Â
But now it's time to thank life for the lesson it gave me, and the new opportunity, only this time with an updated mindset.Â
Reading and writing have helped me understand myself better. I know where my intentions come from and what I want to achieve.Â
It is not about getting rich with money but living a different life helping others. You don't know when the boomerang of goodness is going to return to you.Â
Writing online has healed my mind. By reading daily, I have created good habits and have met people on the same level.Â
Realistically, I still have a regular job — I have to pay bills — but it gives me plenty of time to hone my craft — writing.Â
I can assure you that without writing, I would be nobody, and with this, I want to break the rules of society.Â
I'll leave you with something Tim Denning wrote:Â
“We get richer by challenging all the things we supposedly need money for in the first place. The truth is, we don't need that much.â€Â
Thanks for reading.Â
