Welcome to my next write-up.
This is me assuming your read the first of this two-part
write-up.
So in my last writeup, I mentioned my encounter with a
Mallam and his response to a name I had called him without even knowing what it
meant. (Read up on identity)
So what exactly is a name? I
know we have heard a lot about names but then have we identified with them?
Why is it that in meeting new people, the first question
usually is what is your name?
There is something powerful about a name.
Just imagine walking down the street and someone whistles at
you, would you respond?
No, you would say that is how dogs are called. (Even dogs
have names when they belong to someone and are identified with that person)
The only person who whistles at you or calls you what you
are not is a STRANGER.
The appropriate thing would be either to call your name or
walk up to you and ask what your name is so that I can affirm that when next we
meet.
When Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened and a dove
rested on Him and the next thing that happened was heaven affirming Jesus's
status as God's son.
Before His conception, when the angel came to meet Mary, the
angel of God gave her the instructions and said HIS NAME will be Jesus.
Whoosh!
There is something powerful about a name, it speaks to the
core of who you are as an individual and also whose you are.
That is why my name is Mary Ajagbe, I come from the Ajagbe
clan and my name speaks to who I belong to and where I come from. Now this name
is just for my earthly biodata: Heaven calls me Princess, beloved, Accepted,
God's Battle Axe and so much more
Even the enemy of your faith has a name, he is known by his
deeds also.
People would also identify you with your deeds, oh just look
at Lola, she is such a kind soul, and on and on it would go.
So my question to you is what is your name? What does God
call you?
Your name is so powerful that it also speaks to how you get
to engage earth or heaven and also how you engage life and the lemons it throws
at you.
My charge to you today is to GET TO KNOW YOUR NAME.
A lot of the answers you are searching for lies in knowing
who you are and whose you are.
Take a moment or a time out and ask what am I called, what
am I known as?
This way when the enemy of your faith comes and spews lies
at you calling you what you are not, you would be able to respond
appropriately.
