THE ESSENCE OF NUTRITION FOR SCHOOL SUCCESS

School success is not only about sharp pencils and smart lesson plans but also about what's on the plate. Nutrition is the silent driver behind a student's performance, focus, energy and emotional balance. From the first bells to the final exam in school, a child's brain is constantly processing information but without the right nutrients, even the brightest students would struggle to stay alert, retain knowledge and stay emotionally balance.

Now; Let's explore on how proper nutrition fuels academic excellence.

1.Nutrition and The Brain Had Vital Connection: The brain, though represents 2%of the body's weight uses up to 20% of the body's energy mostly to form glucose. This specific energy is drawn from the students food that they eat.
When students rely more on sugar laden snacks and skip meals, their brain experiences spikes and crashes. This then leads to poor concentration, irritability, and mental fatigue but a well balanced diet provides steady energy needed to stay at alert, solve problems and engage in learning.

2.Breakfast: Numerous studies has shown that children who eat nutritious breakfast performs better academically. They score higher marks in test and are more attentive in class.
Skipping breakfast leads to:
-Slower cognitive processing
-Low energy levels
-increased absent ism
-Behavioral issues.

  Others are:
3.Nutrition helps to maintain emotional balance

4.Nutrition helps in hydration

Behind every A+ grade or creative project is a well fed brain. Nutrition is seen medically to be one of the most essentials. When children are well nourished, their minds are sharpened, spirits lifted, soul happy and future brighter.
