There is a difference between running on a hamster wheel and moving forward. The hamster wheel leaves you tired, spent, and in the same position, you were in when you got on it. You know you have moved forward when you have been and still are, grateful. In other words, without constant gratitude, you will not move forward in life.
What does it mean to be grateful? We've talked about gratitude many times before, but today we provide you with a new perspective to deepen your understanding of gratitude. The reason gratitude is a pushing force stems from the fact that your daily gratitude is an indication that you have seen every opportunity that has come your way that day and you have used those opportunities to continue expressing your being for your good and the good of all those around you.
A grateful heart is synonymous with a progressing person because a grateful heart has no attachment to things going one way or the other. A person with a grateful heart can understand that life happens as it happens because it is what needs to happen to take you somewhere or to bring something or someone over to you. When you remain upset that thing B happened when you were hoping/preparing/praying for A, there is no way you will be grateful for B and there is no way you will move forward from it. When this happens, you get stuck on the hamster wheel, running very hard from thing B, but moving nowhere- when you simply can get off the wheel and walk forward with thing B.
To walk forward means to let go. However, you can't let go if you don't appreciate that the occurrences in your life are just so because they need to be. To walk forward means to be grateful, even for the most disappointing occurrences in your life, including the ones for which you blame yourself. When you have done something and are disappointed, don't be. Instead, realize that there is still more for you to learn and the disappointing outcome is nothing more than life's way of indicating to you that you are in the process of learning or growing or being made stronger for something that you may or may not yet know. So be grateful for it and move forward with the new knowledge or resilience you have gained.
Gratitude is the mindset that moves you along in life and takes you off that hamster wheel. You might not be saying an audible “thank youâ€, but the fact that you are not letting anything make you feel as though you have it worse is an expression of your gratitude for where you are, what you have, and where the combination of these things is taking you.
So stop. Get off the hamster wheel. And make the effort to be in gratitude all the time. That means, see everything in your life as an opportunity to move forward. If there's a hole in front of you it means that you can learn how to jump over it with the legs you have been given or learn how to receive help from those who can cover the hole up for you to walk over. Your body or mind may not necessarily like everything that comes your way but knows that your soul is grateful for it all.
So, move forward and be one with your soul in a heart of gratitude for all that is around you - the great and the not so great. Always remember that things are as they should be and be grateful.
Love
