Hannah unknowingly lent credence to God's integrity the moment she put together the document binding the agreement she made with God for a son.
Being and staying faithful is one of the sure ways to receive the amazing blessings of God. You can sit on a bargain table with God, with a clause though - 'if you are faithful'.
Hannah did.
Her womb had been closed but after much praying, she threw a bargain at #God.
Hannah: I have prayed on this altar every day, cried out of the pain in my heart to You day and night, endured the mockery of the world of being labelled barren but it won't move you to answer me. Now, I have something for you - you just try me God, just one time, give me a son - just one time, out of this barren womb and see if I won't give him back to you and the service of your Kingdom.
And God watching her marvelled at this woman's voracious audacity.
God: okay woman, I hear you. Let's see if you're up to the task!
He obliged her by giving her #Samuel and I am sure in His majestic awesomeness, He sat watching while waiting to see if she'd keep her end of the bargain.
We know she did. How I love sweet endings!
Now, let's imagine a scenario where she faltered...
Firstly, #Eli would have been denied the blessings of having a younger, dedicated and dutiful priest to minister alongside him to God's people - his two sons were a complete mess and unruly.
The people before whom they ministered would have been denied the supportive ministry of Samuel's service to them.
Secondly, #Hannah herself would have been denied the pleasure that comes with knowing you have a son in service to God and humanity. There is no feeling like it!
Here's the most interesting part - she would never have experienced the joys of birthing five more children after Samuel.
Remember her womb had been closed by God. However, her faithfulness to the bargain she threw at God catapulted her to a world too good to be true.
It changed her destiny in its entirety. She was handed a verdict but by her faithfulness, overturned it.
That is how much God loves and rewards faithfulness.
Stayingfai faithful in everything He has entrusted us with is so important to the actualization of the great life we have been called to.
Highly rewarding too.
I know life can get tough when it chooses to but if anything else is lacking in those trying times, make a deliberate decision that your faithfulness to God won't be found wanting. This singular decision can give you the strength needed to wade through.
Stay faithful through and through in every circumstance. Easier said than done in the face of overwhelming situations right? It can be hard I'm well aware. But I know it is also not impossible.
This is the way I see it - knowing deep down that I have no option outside God to bring me out of whatever issue I may be in per time, I make up my mind and choose to remain faithful to Him even when things seem bleak. It may take a while but at His own time, He comes through always.
What you are yet to realize is the fact that His integrity is at stake when you stay the course of faithfulness and He can't help but show up to show off.
