as adults we have life cut out differently for us

Think about PLAY

I looked up from where I was seated and studying and saw my niece , staring blankly at nothing.

I called out to her and asked her to come close, she did and I said, what is on your mind?

She smiled and yawned and said, oh I am just thinking about the future, at this I was really curious and intrigued, an eight year old, thinking about the future.

Interesting.

So I said, what about the future?

She goes, oh I am just thinking about how I will play and what things I will get to play with and on and on she goes about playing.

I laughed out loud like are you for real?

You are thinking about playing in the future?

I had already switched on my big Aunty cap to give her a lecture on enjoying herself and her childhood and then I was caught off guard by her actual thoughts.

Still laughing as I type this too, because it really is a child-like thought.

I still went ahead to tell her to enjoy each day she gets to play and that God will sort the play for the future lol

This dialogue with my eight year old niece really got me thinking deploy.

How as adults we have life cut out differently for us and as adults, all we honestly think about and focus on is so different at different stages of life, but then , do we ever think about play or it's hardly a thing that crosses our minds.

Yes I know, there are bills to pay, so many things that we are consumed about that we hardly ever give time to play.

This reminded me of a session I had with a coach some years back and what we spoke about was rest and recreation, in simple terms, PLAY.

How I really found it hard to rest and all.

It stemmed from very unassuming, negative past events.

Now, it's a few years later and my beautiful niece is reminding me again of play, reminding me of what it means to live life from a beautiful point of view, of course you cannot be playing 24/7 but you most definitely should imbibe the habit of play , create a system of play.

Infuse play into your already tight schedule, do something that makes you connect with the child inside of you, remember you are and always be a CHILD OF GOD.

So ease up on yourself too.

Think about play, laugh, smile, connect with someone.

Tomorrow will take care of itself.
