‘The Forgiven’ (MY STORY PART 1)

‘The Forgiven’ (MY STORY PART 1)

It was a very long day and as the night came into full view and the quietness of the night emerged, I was woken up and in a conversation with my Papa, He asked me what was on my mind, and I shared with Him and He said tell me about it.

As I talk to Him about my day and all that has happened, I’m reminded to listen to a recent recording session of mine and as I listened, Papa said, share this story.

I panicked a bit in my heart but then I have been so wrecked by the love of God that I immediately obey Him, it’s His grace speaking though.

I had wondered what to title this, at first I was going to title it: HOW I WAS MOLESTED BY A GIRL AT A VERY YOUNG AGE but immediately I felt some type of way like will people get it?

But I am encouraged to share this piece of my ongoing life’s journey because of you dear reader.

I also thought would this title capture the essence of the message and not make me feel or paint myself as a victim, no! I am not a victim, I am a victor and so I share from this shift in perspective hence the title: THE FORGIVEN

It was one afternoon, no one was home and she (I do not remember her name) was home for the holidays from boarding school and we connected, I don’t even know how but we usually play in the compound together.

On this particular afternoon, she came into our part of the house and started to touch me saying all sorts of things and that was when it all started, she would come in, touch me in private places and when she was done, she would leave.

It happened time after time until one day, my mum was dressing me up and she saw on the tip of my slowly budding breast, something like little wounds that were healing.

With raised eyebrows she asked what happened to you here, I looked down at myself and saw it, immediately fear gripped my heart, will she believe me, how exactly do I tell her that another girl who was years above me had done that to me, immediately I lied, saying I don’t know mummy, I could tell she didn’t believe it, but she let me go and just gave a warning.

I think it was first at this point of my life that I started to become self-conscious of my body and it became a thing. (it was a shame)

She still did not stop, it happened again after then but this time I was so scared and after this, she didn’t come around for a while again for holidays till I never saw her again.
