In the past 3 weeks, social media has been buzzing with breakup news from various popular celebrities.
Whether it is Tonto Dikeh and her new man calling it quits, Alex Ekubo and his fiancé calling off their wedding, Paul of the defunct P-Square duo having a divorce, comedian Nedu of Wazobia F.M and his estranged wife or superstar Tuface and Annie marital woes.
People have been gossiping... sharing intimates and dirty secrets to any passer-by and we the online in-laws.
This trend got me really thinking.
No one knows what anyone is really going through. It's all a facade. Most people show up on social media to do method-acting. They wear a mask and show off then rake up likes and comments.
Then it's back to reality. But no one really knows what is going on!
They can only make inferences and judgements based on hearsay and pictures!
But think about it? Can you tell the way a Hollywood movie plot is based on just the cover photo? Or even a series of pictures from the scenes of the film?
If the answer is "No".
Then what makes you think you can ever really know what is going on in another person's household or home based on their social media feed?
Talk more of even being a judge over their affairs? No need to meddle.
Listen and learn. Live and let live.
No one else can really know how sad or happy you are—Proverbs 14:10.
